Group Guidelines
From Muscatelli Genealogy Wiki
See help on Groups.
Throughout history, a wide variety of groups of individuals have existed. Sometimes these groups are based on political, religious, or regional events. Groups like these are interesting to genealogists from the perspective of their historical documents as well as interesting to descendents interested in their “famous” heritage.
Below are a few examples of groups that may be worth tracking:
- Presidents of the United States
- English Medieval Kings
- Old Testament Characters
- World War II Veteran
- Mormon Pioneer
- US Civil War Veteran
To make filtering easier, groups should have a start year and a stop year as well as a group type. Possible group types are:
- War
- Political/Nobility
- Pioneer/Explorer
A description field is available for each group to describe the group as well as include links or other resources for learning more about that group.
Groups should not be occupations, religious affiliation, gender, hobbies or other large groups that may span over centuries.
Before forming a group it’s important to remember the purpose of groups.
